Spook-tacular Clean-up event recap

Our Spook-tacular Clean-up that took place on October 23rd was a huge success.

Our mighty team of 25 volunteers gathered around 9:00 AM in Papago Park and hiked around the Preserve to gather some “spook-tacular” trash.

Three hours later, over 800 lbs. of litter were removed from Papago Park and Preserve and loaded into City of Tempe trucks. We also took the opportunity to report graffiti to Tempe 311 for removal.

After the clean-up, we hosted some volunteer appreciation activities including a community lunch around Fuzzy’s tacos and piñata fun!

We want to thank all our volunteers who make these events possible and help us create positive impact. Special shoutout goes out to Bad Booch for partnering with us and supplying refreshments to everyone, and Camelback Culture for helping with event communication and logistics.

As always, we are grateful for our Tempe Parks and Rec. partners who are here to assist with trash disposal.

This Winter, we are focusing on fundraising to prepare for 2023 events. We are teaming up with our friends at Aravaipa and World Ride who are hosting a movie night on November 11, ahead of the Saguaro Soirée event. All proceeds from the beer garden will benefit C.U.P. If you’re interested in supporting us, get your movie ticket and grab a beer on the 11th!

We look forward to seeing you!
