Collaborating with the City of Tempe

Our team is honored to collaborate with the City of Tempe on all things related to Papago Park and Preserve. Today, our board members had a second cross-functional meeting with our city Mayor, Human Services, Tempe PD, Transportation, and Parks Services.

We covered many topics including, the feeling of safety in parks and more specifically within the preserve, community involvement and upcoming funding dedicated to the area.

The city is currently assessing budgets and projects to improve the safety of the Papago Preserve including bringing lighting in the horse tunnel (Under Curry Road).

We also discussed partnerships around a Parks steward program and way to federate the different Papago user groups around preservation and improvements of Papago.

We are grateful for what the city has been implementing over the past couple years and we look forward to being part of the solution.
